Mary Crise, 80, peacefully passed on July 25, 2010 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street from complications following a stroke.
Mary was the second daughter born to Lewis and Elizabeth Meusburger on August 4, 1929 in Waukee. Mary graduated in 1945 from Waukee High School. She married Jack Crise on September 11, 1949 and together raised their family in Des Moines. Mary loved people and was always very active in many activities including playing cards at the Senior Center, golfing, bicycling, and church activities at Indianola Heights Christian Church, of which she was a member. She was an Office Manager for AC Contractors, retiring in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lewis and Jack and sisters, Barbara and Margaret. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; daughters, Jaonne (Roger) Buckingham and Jackie (Mark) Andrews; sisters, Dolores Brown and Christine (Mark) Schore; brother, George (JoAnn) Meusburger; grandchildren, Robyn (Darran) Hurd, Bryan (Denise) Buckingham, Tiffany (Gary) Thompson, and honorary grandchild, Christina (Jake) Griffiths; 8 great grandchildren with two on the way; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mary loved and was loved by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29 at Indianola Heights Christian Church ( S.E. 8th Street & Park Avenue). Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th Street (900 56th Street, Des Moines). Inurnment will be at Waukee Cemetery.
